Urban
Ecology
Urban Ecology is the integration of the natural environment with the constructed one. Successful urban planning recognizes the importance of nature in our daily lives.

Making places with meaning
Design in urban ecology can create relief and respite from the built environment. We want to improve the quality of living, inside and out: the smell, touch, sound, colors, air quality, and views.

Approaching the project
To begin by recognizing that the urban environment is a natural system. View sheds, watersheds; steam plants, native plants; drainage ways, walkways; sun patterns, parking patterns…constructing and connecting patterns to provide long term viability to the final built forms.

Joyous discovery
Wild things in tame places. A momentary slowing of pace and opportunities for recharging. A celebration of natural civic space.
