Portico led the planning process to reorganize and reconceptualize the Garden’s collection. We developed an interpretive master plan that informs both the garden plantings and the educational programs. The plan illustrates “The Buffalo Meridian,” a longitudinal band that traverses the globe from north to south, linking Buffalo to ecological niches around the world. It highlights the similarities and differences in environments, and describes the resulting adaptation of plants.
